Body/Skin
The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality. It is the physical, emotional and affective space in which we experiment life. It is our symbol of social and personal identity.
Our largest organ is the skin. It functions as an interface between ourselves and the world. The skin functions as a map, as a cartography of everything that defines us. It keeps memories, it is the living organ of the experiences that are no longer belong to us, but still constitute us. The skin can be our façade to the world or our barrier that protects us from it.
BODY/ SKIN is the result of a study of my personal bodily experience. In particular, I sought to understand its peculiarities and limits and its relationship with the skin. I explored this subject with various materials such as wax, glass and wire, amongst other.
